It’s been a whirlwind year for the home of Wasps Rugby

Club, which has seen 583 conferences, 60 sporting

events, 58 exhibitions, 50 banquets, 13 weddings, 6

Christmas party nights and 7 music concerts.

Andy Gibb, managing director at the Ricoh Arena, said:

“This past year shows that the Ricoh Arena

is one of the best event destinations not

only in the Midlands, but also in the UK.

Event organisers love the fact that they

have everything they need all in one place

for their meeting, conference or exhibition

to realise its potential.”

Organisers can transform 20,000 square metres of

event space into what they want with very little

restriction, including 80 versatile suites with retractable

walls to suit a variety of business events.

With a 121-bedroom DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and

two restaurants onsite it allows organisers and visitors

to maximise their time at the venue, as well as one of

the largest casinos in the UK to provide the perfect

balance of work and entertainment for guests.

The Ricoh Arena is also ideally placed to attract the

biggest possible crowds, as it’s within a two hour car

drive of 75 per cent of the UK, has 2,000 onsite car

parking spaces and three train stations within eight

miles of the venue.

Over the past year it has played host to a variety of

multi-sector conferences and exhibitions, from big

company conferences for the likes of E.ON and

Boots, to exhibitions such as the Microlise Transport

Conference which included a Royal visit from Her

Royal Highness Princess Anne.

To develop exhibitions and events at the venue further,

a link was recently created between the 6,000 sq m

Ericsson Exhibition Hall down to Hall Three, giving

organisers and visitors easy access to an additional

1,500 sq m of exhibition space.

Andy added:

“While this may seem a small

modification to the venue, we think access

to more space will make a big difference

to organisers whose events are growing

every year.”

The venue’s sport and entertainment offering is also

thriving. The past year has seen over 100,000 music

fans through the doors with 17 artists across four

stages, as well as a variety of sports from rugby union

and football to snooker and international netball.

A staggering 777 exhibitions and events took place at the Coventry venue

over the last 12 months - an increase of 82 events on the previous year.
