Mae cais arloesol am Fargen Ddinesig ‘Arfordir
Rhyngrwyd’ ar waith mewn cydweithrediad â
Llywodraeth Cymru a Llywodraeth y DU. Ffocws
hyn fydd datblygu Dinas-ranbarth Bae Abertawe
yn brif ganolbwynt digidol rhyngysylltiedig drwy
fuddsoddi’n sylweddol mewn isadeiledd digidol a
meysydd ynni, gwyddorau bywyd a phrosiectau
rhwydwaith digidol wedi’u seilio ar ddata.
Drwy brifysgolion Abertawe, mae gan fusnesau
fynediad i arbenigedd arloesol mewn meysydd fel
gwyddorau bywyd, uwch-beirianneg, deunyddiau,
technolegau carbon isel, diwydiannau creadigol a
chyfryngau digidol.
Mae’r Sefydliad Gwyddor Bywyd ym Mhrifysgol
Abertawe’n gwneud gwaith ymchwil a datblygu
rhyngddisgyblaethol yn yr un lleoliad â chyfleusterau
ymchwil clinigol cyfoes ac unedau cychwyn
busnesau o’r radd flaenaf, ac mae’n cefnogi twf
clwstwr gwyddorau bywyd deinamig.
Mae sector creadigol cryf yn datblygu sy’n gartref i
fusnesau megis iCreate, Waters Creative, Vibe TV a
Netbop. Lleolir man pwrpasol cyntaf Cymru wedi’i
adeiladu at ddibenion y diwydiannau creadigol yn
unig ym Mhentref Trefol canol dinas Abertawe, gan
ddarparu canolfan fforddiadwy ac arloesol ar gyfer
busnesau bach newydd, cwmnïau creadigol a’r
celfyddydau perfformio.
Mae gan Abertawe sector technoleg ffyniannus,
gyda llawer o fentrau newydd yn dod i’r amlwg i
fasnacheiddio ymchwil ac arbenigedd mewn
meysydd fel y cyfryngau digidol a TGCh; mae
TechHub Abertawe (un o saith TechHub yn unig
ar draws y byd) ac Indycube Abertawe Ganolog yn
enghreifftiau ffyniannus o fannau newydd i
gydweithwyr sy’n cefnogi gweithgarwch busnes
blaengar ac arloesol.

An innovative ‘Internet Coast’ City Deal bid
is being progressed with the UK and Welsh
Governments. This focuses on developing the
Swansea Bay City Region into an interconnected
digital superhub, through major investment in
digital infrastructure and related energy, life
science, advanced manufacturing and data-driven
digital network projects.
Through Swansea’s universities, businesses have
access to cutting-edge expertise in areas such
as life science, advanced engineering, materials,
low carbon technologies, creative industries and
digital media.
The Institute of Life Science based at Swansea
University co-locates interdisciplinary research
and development with state-of-the-art clinical
research facilities and business incubation units,
and is supporting the growth of a dynamic life
science cluster.
A strong creative sector is developing which includes
businesses such as iCreate, Waters Creative, Vibe TV
and Netbop. Wales’s first dedicated space built purely
for use by the creative industries is located at
Swansea’s Urban Village development in the City
Centre, providing an affordable and cutting-edge
hub for small start-ups, creative companies and the
performing arts.
Swansea has a burgeoning technology sector, with
many new enterprises emerging to commercialise
research and expertise in areas such as digital
media and ICT; Swansea TechHub (one of only seven
TechHubs around the world) and Indycube Swansea
Central are thriving examples of new co-worker
spaces supporting enterprising and innovative
business activity.
