Connectivity
Gyda’i chysylltiadau â’r rhwydwaith
trafnidiaeth ehangach, mae Abertawe
mewn lleoliad strategol da ar gyfer
mynediad i weddill y DU, Ewrop a’r
tu hwnt.
Cysylltir Abertawe â Llundain a de-ddwyrain Lloegr
drwy’r M4, ac â Chanolbarth a gogledd Lloegr
drwy’r M50 a’r M5. Mae Abertawe hefyd yn rhan o’r
rhwydwaith coetsis cenedlaethol â gwasanaethau
cyflym ac uniongyrchol i weddill Cymru, canol
Llundain, prif feysydd awyr a rhannau eraill o’r DU.
Mae Abertawe ar brif reilffordd Great Western sy’n
mynd i Lundain ac mae ganddi gysylltiadau â phob
un o brif ddinasoedd y DU.
Mae Maes Awyr Caerdydd lai nag awr i ffwrdd
mewn car, ac yn cynnig amrywiaeth o deithiau i
ddinasoedd Ewrop a’r tu hwnt. Mae maes awyr bach

awyrennau bach ac ysgafn.
Mae porthladd Abertawe mewn lleoliad delfrydol ar
gyfer masnach forol gyda gogledd-orllewin Ewrop,
Iwerddon a’r Canoldir. Associated British Ports sy’n
berchen ar y porthladd ac yn ei weithredu. Mae’n
addas ar gyfer llongau hyd at 30,000 o dunelli ac
mae ganddo ystod eang o gyfarpar gwaith trwm i
ymdrin â chargo modern.
Mae cysylltedd digidol yn cynyddu:

ar gael i 96% o eiddo Abertawe.

Mae band-eang ffeibr ar gael i oddeutu 80% o
eiddo, gan gynnig cyflymderau o hyd at 80mbps

Mae Abertawe ymysg y lleoliadau cyntaf yn y DU
i elwa o fand-eang gwibgyswllt sy’n gallu cynnal
cyflymderau o hyd at 1gbps.

Mae cynlluniau profi band-eang gwibgyswllt BT
yn galluogi ymchwilwyr academaidd, busnesau
newydd a darparwyr cyfathrebu eraill i roi cynnig
ar dechnolegau a rhaglenni newydd sy’n manteisio
ar gyflymderau uwch a ddarperir gan ‘G.fast’/
band-eang gwibgyswllt.
With its connections to the wider
transport network, Swansea is
strategically located to access the UK,
Europe and beyond.
Swansea is linked to London and the South East via
the M4, and to the Midlands and the North via the
M50 and M5. Swansea is also part of the national
coach network with direct express services to the
rest of Wales, Central London, major airports and
other parts of the UK. Swansea is located on the
Great Western Mainline to London and has links to
all the UK’s main cities.
Cardiff Airport is less than an hour’s drive away,
offering a range of flights to European cities and
beyond. There is also a small airport located at
Fairwood on Gower handling light aircraft and
private planes.
The port of Swansea is ideally placed for maritime
trade with north-west Europe, Ireland and the
Mediterranean. Owned and operated by Associated
British Ports, the port caters for ships up to 30,000
tonnes and is equipped with a wide range of
heavy-duty modern cargo handling equipment.
Digital connectivity is growing:

Broadband coverage (Next Generation Access
NGA) is available to 96% of Swansea premises
•
Fibre broadband is available for around 80% of
premises offering speeds of up to 80mbps
•
Swansea is among the first locations in the UK to
benefit from ultrafast broadband which is capable
of maintaining speeds up to 1Gbps
•
BT’s ultrafast broadband test lab allows academic
researchers, start-ups and other communications
providers to trial new technologies and applications
that exploit the higher speeds provided by
‘G.fast’/ultrafast broadband
