Royal Wootton Bassett has been a market town since the early thirteenth century when
King Henry III granted Lord of the Manor Alan Basset the right to hold weekly markets.
Today we offer a weekly Wednesday market and a Farmers Market on the fourth Saturday
of each month, which complement an interesting variety of independent shops.
Expect a warm and friendly welcome and excellent customer service at our town’s
Wednesday Market, which has such a lot to offer! Stallholders are always happy to
answer your questions, provide information and have a chat.
Fresh fish
and seafood have been available at the market for almost thirty years.
Mr. Chris Davis is here every week with cooked and fresh fish.
Mr. Cornish has offered
pet food, wild and domestic bird food
at the market for 10
years. As well as meaty biscuits and chocolate drops, you will also find such treats as
pigs trotters!
V & P Collins are
localindependent
growers for fruit, vegetables and
eggs.
Having set up their stall
on the High Street for the past
15 years, they are familiar with
the town and people. “Everything
is fresh, local and good value. We
have come to know the shoppers
and other stallholders over the
years. We support small producers
so please come along and see
what we have to offer.”
